John Passmore, 64, of Waikiki, formerly of Waianae and Kailua, passed away November 17, 2016. He was a graduate of Kailua High School and the University of Hawaii-Manoa, where he majored in English and earned his Teaching Certificate. He taught English at Waianae Intermediate School for many years and enjoyed many friends among students, teachers, and residents. He is survived by son Dylan, daughter-in-law Maylin Venturina, granddaughter Alexa, siblings Matthew, Mona, and Mike, his former spouse JD, and the families of his step- children. He was pre-deceased by his parents, brother Steve, and friend Dennis Wooten. Services were private, with ashes scattered at his favorite beach.
