Dr. Imre L. Bard, 87, of La Crosse and formerly of Honolulu, Hawaii, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born in Budapest, Hungary, on Nov. 5, 1928. Imre retired as a professor of Medieval European and World History from Chaminade University of Honolulu. He also developed lifelong friendships in the Pacific region, especially his neighbors in Hawaii Kai, the Sandersons, Marshes, and Halletts. In addition to his wife Teri's death in 2008, Imre was preceded in death by his son, Eric, in 2001. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on December 31, 2016, at Moanalua Bay Beach Park in Hawaii Kai.
