83, of Honolulu, Hawaii, a homemaker, passed away at her home on December 3, 2016. She was born on February 7, 1933, in Puunene, Maui. She is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Char and daughters Gayle I. Char and Millicent C.(Jun) Shudo and a sister, Barbara Tadakuma, of Wailuku, Maui. Elaine was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Jacqueline S. Char, in 2011. "A Celebration of Life" service will be held on January 4, 2017, at Kalihi Union Church. Visitation begins at 10:00 am and service will begin at 11:00 am. Aloha attire.
