FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

F. Newell Bohnett
F. Newell BohnettMay 26, 1923 to January 1, 2017 F. Newell Bohnett joined his Lord on January 1, 2017 at the age of 93. Most of his early years were spent in Santa Barbara, California where he attended college. When World War ll broke out, he enrolled in the Navy and became a Marine Corps pilot. At the end of the war he married Nada Violet Nickoloff and they made their home in Santa Barbara. In 1957 he co-founded Sambo's Restaurants, which at one point had more than 1,000 establishments nationwide. In 1968 Newell moved his family to Oahu; and purchased the 107,000-acre Puuwaawaa Ranch in 1972 on the Big Island of Hawaii. Newell and Nada raised four children, Nikki, Lynda, Jamie and Vikki. His beloved wife Nada passed away in 1992. Newell then married Marsha Ann Scibella in 1993, and became the step-father to her daughter Paula. They had 24 happy years together shuttling between their homes in Hawaii, California and Arizona. Newell will be remembered for his humor, excellent tennis game, intense love of football and perfection of the ultimate "Happy Hour." He knew how to live life, and as noted by his loved ones, the fact that he chose New Year's Day 2017 as his day to slip away from us felt like a typical FNB orchestrated exit. Newell is survived by his wife Marsha, four daughters, one son, thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Services will be held on January 16, at the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu at Ko'olau at 4pm. Burial will be on January 18, at 2pm at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
