Age 91, of Pearl City, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 16, 2016 surrounded by family. She was born in Kalaheo, Kauai on March 30, 1925. Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edward Ching. Phyllis was an amazing cook, seamstress, quilter, loved crafts & playing ukulele. She loved being a mom to their 4 kids, then worked at Highlands Child Care Ctr for 20 yrs & faithfully attended Kahikuonalani Church for over 40 yrs. Her generous spirit & sense of humor will be truly missed by all that knew her. Survived by sons, Greg Ching, Randy (Sue) Ching & Malcolm (Amy) Ching, daughter, Cindy (Ty) Tamanaha, sister, Annette Chen, brothers, James & John Dang. Granddaughters, Keri (Miles) Presnell, Rina (Russell) Fujii & 3 great-grandchildren. Services: Fri. Feb. 3, 2017 at Diamond Head Memorial Park. Visitation 9:30 a.m., Service 10:30, Burial 12:45 p.m. Casual attire.
