Leinani Keppeler Bortles, 76, a beautiful daughter of Hawai'i passed away peacefully on February 2. She was surrounded by her 'ohana and friends in a house on the ocean. Leinani was a powerful soprano, a dedicated Hawaiian historian and cultural advocate. She will be remembered for her passion, joy and kokua. She is loved and missed by her childrenErin Maile O'Keefe, Kristin Mele Bortles, Gavin Keppeler Bortles, and Eden Nanea Kyle, seven grand- children, and brotherJohn P. "Jack" Keppeler II. She was pre-deceased by her brother H.K. Bruss Keppeler. Leinani's Memorial is Friday, February 10th at St. Andrew's Cathedral. Visitation 9-10:30am. Service 11am. Reception noon.
