EDWARD HIDEYUKI HORIO, “Hide”
EDWARD HIDEYUKI HORIO, HIDE 89, died peacefully on Thu, March 16, 2017. Born in Honolulu, Ed was a retired Hickam AFB aircraft mechanic, devout christian, and avid ukulele player. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Horio and Joya Kabel; brothers, Arthur and Rodney Horio; and many beloved nieces and nephews. "Snow is Falling on Mauna Kea" was composed by Ed and recorded by Genoa Keawe, receiving airtime in the '50s. His passion led him to the Ukulele Ministry, with friends at KoAloha and Kalihi Union Church. Visitation: 4pm; Services: 5pm on Wed, March 29, 2017; at Nuuanu Memorial Park, Chapel of the Flowers, 2233 Nuuanu Avenue. Memorial donations to Kalihi Union Church are appreciated.
