FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Daniel Keone Sailer
Daniel Keone Sailer, age 47, died on May 8, 2017 at Hawaii Hospice in Kailua, Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Ericka Ehrhorn, daughters Danicka and Hannah. His parents are Joseph and Beatrice Sailer, sister Deborah (Lance) Suan, and brother Joseph Christopher Sailer. His wife parents are Charles and Jean Ehrhorn. Daniel was born in Honolulu, January 5, 1970 and resided in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Daniel Sailer is a graduate of the University of Hawai'i and Punahou School. Daniel was the natural resources manager for the O'ahu Army Natural Resource Management Program protecting native plant and animal species in approximately 1000 acres of the Waianae Mountains. A life long conservationist he wrote the program manual used by several conservation organizations to protect native Hawaiian plants and animals. A documentary film on saving the elepaio bird records his and others work to regenerate the elepaio population. Daniel Sailer was recently recognized by a Hawaii State Senate proclamation for his life long dedication and achievement in conservation. A remembrance of life and prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Mililani Mortuary, Makai Chapel located in Mililani Cemetery, in Waipio, O'ahu, Hawaii. A memorial Mass will be held 2:30 pm on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, at 1525 Waimano Home Road, Pearl City, Hawaii. Aloha attire for both services.
