The family of Shirley G. Han would like to announce her passing on March 11, 2017 at the age of 81 surrounded by her children. Shirley was born in Waukegan Illinois. The second of two daughters, born to Frances and Garland Garrett. She attended the University of Illinois and majored in nursing, later joining the Army nurse core. Her sense of adventure brought her to Honolulu where she worked at Leahi Hospital. There, she met her future mother in-law, a fellow nurse who would introduce her to her son, Howard - a marriage that would last over 51 years. She lived to see her cherished Chicago Cubs win the World Series - even in declining health, her elation was a joy to see. Shirley is survived by her husband, two daughters, grandson, many nieces, nephews, friends and in-laws. "We will miss you Mom, so very much."
