Patricia-Anne Kauilani BoydJune 19, 1946 - October 26, 2015 Kaui was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and passed away in San Diego California. Having graduated from Kamehameha, Class of 1962, Kaui obtained a BS degree in Mathematics from Pacific University in Oregon. Shortly after graduation, she married and moved abroad with her husband, living in Germany and Turkey for several years. They had two daughters and eventually settled in Rocklin, California. Kaui taught high school math, and later was an office manager in an optometrist office. She later moved to San Diego, where she sang in her church choir and was active in Hawaiian club activities. Preceded in death by her father, James H. Boyd, she is survived by her daughters Robin (Mike) and Leolani, her mother Florence K. Boyd, her brother, Cecil Boyd (Teresa), four grandchildren, and a niece and nephew. She will be interred at Oahu Cemetery on June 13th after a short celebration of life at the Chapel in the cemetery, at 1:00 p.m.

SAMUEL CUMMINS LUKESamuel Cummins Luke, 82, born in Honolulu on March 11, 1935, peacefully passed away on May 23, 2017 at Castle Medical Center with his wife and family members by his side. Sam was a proud St. Louis School alumnus, attending from 1st grade until graduation. He received his Public Administration BA from the University of Hawaii. After college, he managed several insurance companies and recently became semi-retired as an independent insurance agent. Sam's activities included: President of the American Jujitsu Institute, President of the Lin Yee Chung Association; Chairman of the Living Life Source Foundation; Lay Minister at St. John Vianney Catholic Church; Regional President of the Association Information Technology Professionals. Sam was honored by the United Chinese Society of Hawaii as the Model Father for 2011. Sam is survived by wife Florence, sons Lance (Darlene), Layne (Tessie), Larsen and daughter Lisa (Eddie) Anderson, eight grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, brother Vernon and sister Lynda (Ed) Lee. He is predeceased by his son, Lorin and brother Kingsley. Services are on Saturday June 17, 2017, at St. John Vianney Church in Kailua. Visitation 9:00; services at 10:30. Private burial services at a later date.

MARION FRANCES PARMLEYMarion Frances Parmley, 90, passed away peacefully at home in Hawaii Kai on May 26, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born July 28, 1926, she was the younger of two sisters born to Carl and Hannah Ferber in Sioux City, Iowa. Raised in the Midwest, she moved to Los Angeles, CA, for her senior year of high school. While working at Western Union, she met her future husband at the Hollywood Canteen, and married Harry (Truman) Parmley III, on May 18, 1946, in Los Angeles. Truman returned to the Air Force and their nomadic military life began. They raised three sons and a daughter, moving from Maine to Louisiana, Los Angeles to Japan, the Mojave Desert to Okinawa. It was in Okinawa that Truman fell ill, and was transferred to Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, where he passed away December 16, 1973. By then, Marion had made the move from Okinawa to Hawaii to get her youngest son in school. She had begun her Civil Service career as a court reporter for the Army in Okinawa, and continued with that for the Air Force at Hickam AFB. She was always very active in retired military widows' affairs, joining the Hawaii branch of Surviving Military Widows (SMW), a national organization, and was a fixture at military functions all over Hawaii. She retired from Civil Service in 1997, but continued to be very active with SMW until her recent illness. Marion is predeceased by her husband, Harry Truman III, and infant son Lynn Carlton. She is survived by sons Harry Truman IV (Betty), Clay Carlton (Terri), Scott Emory (Anna), and daughter Carol Lynne Parmley-Wyman (Ken); two grandsons,Sean Carl and Cody Merrill; two granddaughters, Jennifer Evelyn Parmley and Elizabeth Marian Carvalho; eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 5919 Kalanianaole Hwy; Visitation 8:30 am-8:45 a.m.; Eulogy 8:45 am; Mass 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Graveside services will be held later that day at Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at 1:00 p.m., where she will be laid to rest with her husband. In lieu of gifts, donations may be made to Hospice Hawaii.

She was born on April 14, 1933 in Honolulu and is survived by her husband Herbert, two sons Scott (Jackie) and Ron (Sandi); 5 grandchildren, Blair (Michelle), Garrett (Cindy), Rachel, Christina and Julia; and 1 great-grand- child Nolan. Lillian, Roosevelt Class of '51, was a part time Real Estate broker and full time Mom who loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas where she would meet family and friends. Early in life she was diagnosed with an incurable disease, but with the help of her dear friends, very supportive family and her zest for life; she was a fighter; Lillian enjoyed a life well lived. Private Services were held at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary on May 30, 2017.
