age 85, of Honolulu, passed away May 16, 2017 at Tripler Medical Center. He was born in Mayontoc, Tarlac, Philippines, and was also retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by wife, Marina; son, Ben Jr. (Sandra); daughter, Evelyn (Keith) Kaneshiro; brother, Vic; sister, Norma Thomas; stepsons, Marvin, Edwin, Nathan and Jeremy (Samantha) Gudoy; 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grand- children, 2 step-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, June 19, 2017, at St. John the Baptist-Kalihi. Eulogy and remembrances 9:00 a.m. Visitation 9:45 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10:45 a.m. Burial 1:30 p.m. at Schofield Barracks Cemetery. No flowers. Amy Tanner Berglund Amy Tanner Berglund died on May 15, 2017 at the age of 96 at Kaneohe, Hawaii. Born in 1920 to S.O. and Johanna Tang, Amy moved from Minnesota to Hawaii in 1947 and remained here to teach English at McKinley High School from 1968 to 2006. "Bergie", as she was called by her students, received the honor of Teacher of the Year and retired from McKinley High at age 86, as the State of Hawaii's oldest full-time teacher. Amy had a quick wit and a fine sense of humor; she loved reading, good food, and travelling internationally with her good friends who brought her great joy and long-lasting friendship. She is survived by her sister-in-law Elaine Tang and several nieces and nephews. Amy has been laid to rest with her husband, Rex Berglund, at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

Richard Takashi Misaki95, of Molokai passed away on April 15, 2017 in Honolulu. He was born in Lahaina on May 13, 1921. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Richard was the retired co-owner of Misaki's, Inc. in Kaunakakai. Upon his retirement from Misaki's, Inc., he and his wife Grace (deceased) opened the Kepuhi Sundries shop at the Sheraton Molokai Hotel/Kaluakoi Resort. He so loved his life on Molokai and took advantage of all the outdoor activities Molokai had to offer: sports, fishing, hunting and golf. He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees and the Lions Club and a regular visitor to Las Vegas. Richard is survived by his son, Alan (Linda) Misaki, daughters, Ann (Bruce) Yoshimura and Paula Vincent, 3 grandchildren, Lianne, Randy and Derek and sister, Irene (Harold) Iwane. Dorothy Toyoko Miyamoto99, was born in Honolulu on January 7, 1918, to Toyosuke (Jimmy) and Hideyo Okumura. She died in the early morning of May 26, 2017. The Okumura family included Dorothy's brothers, Jack and George; and sisters, Mae and Fumi. The family was relocated to the Tule Lake, California, Relocation Camp during World War II, from June 23, 1942 to August 5, 1943. Dorothy and her husband, the late Dr. Robert Mitsuo Miyamoto of Hilo, Hawaii, were married on September 2, 1943, in Cook County, Illinois. They lived in Joliet, Illinois and moved to Hilo, Hawaii in 1947, upon Dr. Miyamoto's completion of residency at St. Joseph's Hospital. Dorothy was active in the Hilo Memorial Hospital's Auxiliary and the Waiakea Lions Club Auxiliary. She passed her extensive seamstress knowledge on to a generation of young women. A talented artist and creative cook, she was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She moved into Olaloa Retirement Community in Mililani Town, her last residence. She is survived by sister, Fumi Nakata; two sons, Craig (Diana, ne'e Ueda) of Honolulu and Dr. Eric (Debra, ne'e Drew) of Dana Point, California; three daughters, Dayle (Larry) Osborn, Audrey (Clifford) Nakaoka, and Karen (Dr. Warren) Ono, all of Honolulu; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held in Hilo at a later date. Per Mrs. Miyamoto's wishes, the family has requested no koden (monetary offerings) be given. Predeceased in death by her husband Harry Suzuki, she is survived by her son Glenn Suzuki, daughters Laraine Taira and Joyce Tobara (Ernest), sister Lorene Hasegawa, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was employed most of her life at American Sanitary Laundry as a bookkeeper. Growing up the eldest in a household of 5 brothers and 3 sisters and existing on basic needs, her time, energy, and limited resources were given generously to help others in need. As a faith-based person, she lived each day with harmony, gratefulness, and compassion and treated each day as a gift and as a blessing. As she transitioned to the heavens beyond, she looked forward to eternity with hope and optimism. Private memorial services were held at Oahu Cemetery.
