Richard RICHARD DICKIE PUIKAIKAOKALANI ACHIU 79, of Waialua passed away on June 12, 2017 in Wahiawa with his family by his side. He was born on August 23, 1937 in Haleiwa. He retired from the City and County of Honolulu as a Heavy Equipment Operator at the Kawailoa Transfer Station. He is survived by his wife: Aileen, son: Troy (Racquel) Achiu, Daughters: Rhonda Carvalho and Mavis (Blake) Hookala. Brother: Austin "Kalani" Achiu, Sisters: Mildred "Millie" Silva, Helen Toki, Gladys "Nani" (Frederick) Souza, Esther (Joe) Grilho, and Pamela Sato. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 viewing at 5 PM with services to follow at 6:30 at the Mililani Mauka Chapel.

JANICE MAY DICKIEAge 86 of Kailua passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2017. Born in California, the daughter of Mr. Byron Churchill and Josephine Smith Hunkins, the family moved to Hawaii in 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Emmett Dickie (February 27, 2014) and is survived by her son Robert Tell Dickie (Denver CO) and daughters Dawn Dickie Stewart (Chapel Hill NC) and Nalani Dickie Tanabe (Kailua HI), and grandchildren Alan Stewart and Tana Stewart, Morgan Dickie and Kennedy Dickie, Aleina Tanabe, and brother Richard Hunkins. A celebration of life and spreading of ashes off the beach for both parents will be held at 120 Kuailima St. in Lanikai at the Tanabe family home at 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2017.

Samuel Paguirigan Domingo, Jr.Samuel Paguirigan Domingo, Jr., 65, of Honolulu, Hawaii, died June 13, 2017, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. His wife, Frances of 46 years was at his side. He was born on June 21, 1951 in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, the son of the late Samuel Villa Domingo Sr. and Macaria Paguirigan Domingo. He was the only child. On September 5, 1971, he married Frances Ordinado Domingo. He came to Hawaii when he was 17 years old and graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1973 with a degree in Medical Technology. He briefly worked at Sida Taxi as a dispatcher at the airport while attending UH and after graduation he worked as a medical technologist at St. Francis Hospital and then at The Honolulu Medical Group. He moved to Straub Clinic and Hospital's Tilden Lab in 1977 and worked there for over 25 years at the S. King St. location, initially as a med tech and then as the laboratory evening shift supervisor. He also worked part time at Kaiser Hospital at Moanalua until 2000. In 2004, he left Straub to work on his printing business full-time with his wife, Frances. S&F Printing became a household name in the Filipino Community especially in Kalihi where their print shop was located. In 2016, Samuel and Frances retired from the printing business. He is survived by his wife, Frances Ordinado Domingo, daughter Jo Anne Domingo Lemus and son-in-law, Abel, daughter Jennifer Domingo-Smith and son-in-law Dana Smith, son Jay Domingo and daughter-in-law Emylie, and son Jeremy Domingo and daughter-in-law Pamela, grandchildren Isabel and Alyssa Lemus, Ronin Ganoot, Vance Smith and Ayden Domingo-Smith, Peighton Domingo, Maxemilion, Miamor and Meredith Domingo. First day of funeral services will be held on Thursday July 27, 2017 at Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel. Visitation 5 PM, Service 6:30 PM. Second day of funeral services will be held on Friday July 28, 2017 at Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel. Visitation 9 AM, Service 10 AM. Burial will follow at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park Cemetery at 11 AM.

DOLORES L. KAUDolores L. Kau, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend passed away on June 23, 2017 at the age of 80. She was born in Kahuku, Oahu, Hawaii on July 17, 1936, grew up in Kahana Bay, and is a Kahuku High School graduate. Shortly after, she and her twin sister enlisted and served in United States Army, stationed at Fort Monroe, Virginia and served for 2-1/2 years with honorable discharge. They are credited as the first Hawaiian Island twins to enlist and serve in the United States Army. Dolores relocated to Southern California seeking to establish a career in administrative services and build lifelong friendships. She met her husband Harry, was soon married and shortly after started a family. Her greatest enjoyments throughout life were her family, friends, sharing and perpetuating the knowledge, ways, crafts and beliefs of the Hawaiian culture, and a genuine care of helping people. A woman of many talents, she worked as executive assistant in administrative and human resources. Later in life, she would further her passion for the Hawaiian culture and enjoyed spending time with her 4 children, 5 grandchildren, family and many friends. She will be loved forever by all the lives she touched. She is survived her children, Glen (Grace) Kau, Kathleen (Lance Hama) Kau, Cheryleen Kau, Su-Lin (Dennis) Gray; grandchildren Jake Kau, Collin, Loyal, Kenzi and Cassidy Gray; sister Eleanor (Robert) Toon of Idaho; sister Ann Dominguez of Utah; brother William (Charlotte) Dela Cerna of Torrance; she is also survived by many other relatives here and in Hawaii. Memorial services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel, 501 N. Rowell Avenue, Manhattan Beach on July 1, 2017 at 10 am. Burial took place at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes following church services. Casual "Aloha " was preferred.

EDNA TAKAKO KIMURAJuly 12, 2017 Edna Takako Kimura, 100, of Kailua passed away at home on July 6, 2017. She was born in April 1917 to Kinji and Some Nishikawa and grew up in Honolulu, graduating from McKinley High School. She was one of ten siblings. The family commuted from the 1930's to their leased property in Kailua (Kukanono Subdivsion along "church row") and where the Kailua Theater (Goodyear Tire) was located until they moved to Kailua. They had a poultry, fruit trees, and plants farm. Edna spent her time working there as well as at their Kailua Fruit Stand situated along Kailua road where some of their lychee and avocado trees still remain. While her passion was in growing orchids and all kinds of plants, picking ogo, cooking, and baking, she found pleasure changing to "retirement mode" during her 80's. She is remembered for being a gracious lady with a lovely smile who always put others first through her quiet patience, understanding, and thank you's. Predeceased by her contractor husband, Dick Tadao Kimura, of 65 years, she is survived by daughters Sharon and Sandra, sister-in-law Margaret M. Kimura, and nieces and nephews in Japan and Oahu. Special appreciation to extraordinary friends for their support and care: Doris Kino, Mark W. R. Chung, MD, and David J. Randell, MD. Private family service held.
