Raymond Wai Lum Chung90, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2017, in Portland, Oregon, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side. Raised in Kalihi, Ray was the son of Kim Wo and Julia Ake Chung, and a brother to 11 other Chung siblings: sisters Maria (Joseph Lin), Momi (Milton Soo), Elsie (Robert "Kimo" Punohu), Julia (Henry Kim), Lena (Lloyd Wong), Violet (Herbert Lau/Al Kulani), and brothers James (aka Boy), Thomas (Jane), Alvin (Arlene), and "Jimmy Boy". He survived all of them until his passing and was "Uncle Ray" to 14 nephews, 11 nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, May Lee Yook Chung, and survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy & Doug Cooke, and their sons, Noah & William, of Portland, OR, and by his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Kalikiano Chung & Kate Baldridge, and their children, Glynis & Declan, of Santa Fe, NM. Ray attended St. Louis High School from K-12, and graduated in 1944. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a captain, with stints in Germany as an artillery specialist. After his service, he graduated from the University of Hawaii where he was a football and track athlete, and went on to teach math at Kawananakoa and McKinley High Schools, until retiring in 1987. He was a long-time member of Central Union Church (CUC), and active with the Prince Kuhio Civic Club & Choral Group. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 1:30pm at the CUC Atherton Chapel courtyard, followed by a 3:00pm committal ceremony at Punchbowl Cemetery with military honors. No flowers.

Roger Paul Couture ROGER PAUL COUTURE Passed away on August 27, 2017 at 11:27 am from the effects of prostate cancer. He thankfully joined Islands Hospice on January 20, 2017. Born in Berlin, N.H. on December 16, 1937, he lived an adventurous childhood with a focus on fishing, boating, nature and sports. In 1957, he joined the Air Force, which took him to Madison, WI, where he married Mary Kouba who bore him two children, Cathy and Norman. After military service, he worked for Oscar Mayer as an industrial mechanic for 35 years. Joining AA in Madison in 1976 led to much love and support both in Madison and in Hawaii. He left Madison in 1999 when both he and his current wife, Darlene Weingand, moved to Honolulu, HI. He enjoyed 14 years as a Docent at both the Honolulu Museum of Arts and 15 years at the Honolulu Zoo mainly within the African Savanna area. He became a member of the Waikiki Elks Lodge in 2012. Roger and Darlene had the opportunity to travel extensively while working as well as in retirement. Cruising became a preferred way to see the world. Roger leaves behind a loving wife and a blended family of six children, ten grandchildren and three great-grand-children as a legacy for the future. Roger was a member of the University of Hawaii Willed Body Program. A Requiem Mass will be said at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Kapahulu in Waikiki on Saturday, August 12 at 10:00 am. The Rosary will precede the mass at 9:30 am.

Age 94 of Waipahu passed away on June 30, 2017. She was born in Vintar, Ilocos Norte on July 26, 1922. Predeceased by husband Remigio Crisostomo. Survived by daughters Fe (Romeo) Cantorna, Lydia (Walter) Leonard, Rose Amy (Elton) Inouye, Sons Rudy (Nelzi) Crisostomo and Roland (Melissa) Crisostomo. 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grand- children. Visitation on Monday, Aug 14, 5:30-9:00pm. Service starts 6:30pm at Mililani Mortuary- Mauka Chapel. Tuesday, Aug 15, Visitation 9:30-10:45am followed by Mass 11am-12pm at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, 94-1260 Lumikula Street, Waipahu HI 96797. Burial to follow at 12:30pm-Mililani Memorial Park.

 Robert (Bob) Y.O. Hee ROBERT (BOB) Y.O. HEE Age 83, peacefully passed away in his sleep in Honolulu on 2/12/17. Bob graduated from St. Louis High School and the University of Hawaii with a degree in accounting. He was a retiree of IBM and helped open IBM's first office in Beijing, China. A simple man, he found happiness and pleasure in taking family trips, attending concerts, dining out, and going to Vegas to play his favorite game blackjack. Despite having health problems the last few years, he continued to live life with grit, determination, and dignity and was able to enjoy his passion of traveling when possible. Always a generous individual, he has donated his body to the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Bob is survived by the love of his life Amy, son Matthew (Jackie), daughter Patricia (Derrick), grandchildren Kiana and Tyler. He is also survived by brothers Donald (Jean), Wilfred (Evie) and sisters Diana, Vivian (David) and Winifred. The Family thanks all those who have been a part of his wonderful, full life. Services to be held at a later date.

RUBY KAWAMURAOur beautiful wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt and best friend started her new journey as she left this earth on July 24th. Ruby Kawamura was born on the island of Barbados. It was there she grew up, worked and made many life-long friends. Ruby moved to the mainland to be with her sister Joyce. First to Virginia then Connecticut and ultimately here to Hawaii where she met her soul-mate and best friend, Stanley Kawamura. They were blessed to be married for 43 years. Ruby is survived by her husband Stanley, sister Joyce, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews and so many friends. Ruby lived her life as a selfless, loving, caring and gentle soul. Ruby was an inspiration to all who knew her. Ruby will be greatly missed and never forgotten. We look forward to seeing her bright smile and hearing her laughter again. Ruby is with her Lord now.

Karla Jeanne KralWas born inPoynette, WI on June 29, 1950 and died unexpectedly on March 28, 2017 in Honolulu where she has lived forover 40years.In 1972, Karla toured Africa and her love of the tropics lured her to Hawaii where she embraced the aloha spirit to the hilt. Karla worked at Kaiser Permanente for many years. Her health care career evolved into professional caregiving. Karla's aloha was also felt at Unity Church, Siddha Yoga, the Buddhist Fellowship and with the Dalai Lama and her local meditation group. She was politically active and a well-known supporter of public radio, local food and art events. She was famous for concocting unique combinations of teas, juices & herbal remedies.She will be dearly missed. Karla is survived by her sisters Barbara Jakubowski and Martha Adair.
