William Masayuki ArakiWilliam "Bill" Masayuki Araki, 87, died peacefully on July 15, 2017 at Pohai Nani. He was born to James and Momoye Araki. Bill was raised in Haleiwa and graduated from Waialua High, UH and Pepperdine. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was awarded a bronze star and UN service medal. He held various positions at the Dept. of Education as a teacher, vice-principal, deputy and district superintendent and personnel officer. Survived by children, Dawn (Alvin) Arasato, Darlene (Robert) Chai, Twila (Eliseo) Cuenca, Charles Araki, Robert (Grace) Araki, Nellani (Bernard) Asato and Jon (Beryl) Tyau, 17 grand- children, 12 great-grandchildren, brother, James (Shannon) Araki and sister, Flora Araki Kinoshita. Visitation 5:30 pm, service 6:30 pm, Thursday, August 17, 2017, Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel.

27, passed away on July 20, 2017. He was born on August 14, 1989 in Wahiawa, HI., to Michael DeGuzman and Beverly (Belcher) DeGuzman. Joshua was a 2007 graduate of Campbell High School in Ewa Beach. He was employed by Cornerstone A/C and was a proficient HVAC technician. Joshua was a true Seahawks fan and enjoyed fishing, playing his ukulele, throwing darts, and spending time with his son, family and friends. Joshua, will be truly missed by all. He is survived by his nine month old son, Kaleb, sister Michele (Joshua) Markwith and niece, Harper, parents Michael & Beverly, grandmother, Gloria Santos, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Burial service is at Mililani Mortuary on Sat., August 19th at 1:00pm. Visitation and Memorial service on Sun., August 20th from 10am- 2:00pm at the Okinawa Center in Waipio.

Graduated from Farrington High School, St. Joseph College in Yokohama, Japan and De Forrest Technical Institute in Chicago, Illinois, he was co-owner of Nippon Theater and general manager of Beaver Grill Restaurant. He also worked at Theo Davies, Amfac, the US General Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan and at various TV/movie production companies such as CBS Inc., Universal Studios, Paramount, Walt Disney, Aaron Spelling and Columbia Pictures. William (Bill) Hanohano Jr.72, of Kaneohe, passed away, Thursday, August 3, 2017. He was a resident of Burnsville, Minnesota. Interment at Hawaii State Veteran's Cemetery, Kaneohe. Bill was born October 8, 1944, in Honolulu, to William and Helen (Hulama Makahalupa) Hanohano. He graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 1963. He obtained a degree from Utah State and joined the army as an officer in the Preventive Medicine division. Bill served 20 years in Korea, Germany, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Panama. He retired as a Major and returned to Hawaii. He worked at St. Francis Medical Center and later volunteered at Castle Medical Center and Bishop Museum before moving to Minnesota in 2014. He married Myong Cha Yi (Lee Hanohano) in Korea. They were married for 33 years, until her passing in 2002. He is survived by three children, Helen McNeil, Harry Hanohano and Michele Carulli; seven grandchildren: Ian Hanohano, Michaela Kalama, Rhys Kalama, Devyn Kalama, Skye McNeil, India McNeil and Chase Carulli. Also survived by his mother, Helen Hanohano and sister, Maggie Hanohano.

JOHN JUBINSKY, JOHN JUBINSKY, JUBE 83, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away from complications with cancer at his home surrounded by family on Friday August 4, 2017. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 24 at 4:30 PM at the Waialae Country Club (http://www.waialaecc.com) in Honolulu. Jube was born in northeastern Pennsylvania, the youngest son of Michael and Anna, a coal miner and housewife. Educated at Colby College in Maine and the University of Chicago Law School, he followed his best friend to Hawaii where, after a brief stint in the army, he joined the law firm of Ashford & Wriston and rose to partner. Jube eventually went solo and among other endeavors, served as General Counsel for Title Guaranty Hawaii. In 2009, Honolulu Magazine recognized him as Lawyer of the Year for real estate law. An avid golfer, wine lover, foodie, history buff, philanthropist, champion of education, and mentor to many, Jube relished the game of life, was admired for his intellect, and had a fierce love for and loyalty to his friends and family. He is survived by Teresita, his wife of 50 years, children Ruben and Melissa and spouses, and two grandchildren.
