Alma Mae BourkeAge 94, of Kailua, died at home on August 8, 2017, surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward Luke Bourke, Sr. Alma Mae was born in Paia, Maui on May 26, 1923, to Alma A. and John M. Johnson. Alma Mae was a third-generation descendent of Norwegian contract laborers who arrived on Maui on the bark Beta after the long voyage from Norway around Cape Horn in 1881. Her father, John Johnson, was the mill superintendent at Wailuku Sugar Company. Alma Mae grew up in Wailuku, Maui, graduated from Maui High School in 1941, and attended the Queen's School of Nursing in Honolulu before getting married and moving to Kailua in 1948. She was a smart woman who devoted her life to her family, who loved Hawaii, sports and gardening. She is survived by sons Edward L. Bourke, Jr., M.D. (Tia), and Brian M. Bourke (Kalei); and daughters Sharon H. Albrecht, and Maureen P. Lichter (Randy); eight grand- children and four great-grand- children. Private services will be held.

Tysen Keiso Campbell38, of Peachtree City, Georgia passed away on August 7, 2017. He was born in Honolulu on October 23, 1978. Tysen graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute in 1996 and went on to attend Georgia College & State University. He graduated with a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. Tysen entered U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2008 serving as an officer until his death. Tysen is survived by his wife, Ellen, and daughter Ella (4). Ellen is expecting their second child in January 2018. He is also survived by his parents, Ned and Jennifer Campbell of Kapolei; his aunt Deborah (Fred) Shimabukuro; aunt Priscilla (Clay) Takamoto; uncle Lester Sakai and uncle Kelvin (Joan) Sakai; and many other relatives and friends. Services for Tysen were held in Peachtree City, Georgia.

A. Thornton GuildThornton Guild passed away on July 19 at the age of 91. He was born and raised in Honolulu where he attended Hanahauoli and Punahou School (class of 1944). After graduation, Thornton joined the inactive reserve working at Hickam as a civilian employee. In April, 1945, he was activated and sworn in at Schofield. Following basic training, he was assigned to the 7th Air Force at Hickam, working as an air craft mechanic. He was later assigned to flight status as a crew chief flight engineer, traveling throughout the Pacific theater. After a number of years in the San Francisco Bay area, Thornton returned to Honolulu, where he entered the insurance business (retiring in 2014). He and his wife, Annie, enjoyed life with their Dachshunds, Hannis, Christa and Henrietta and their 33 yr. old Senegal parrot B.J. Thornton was predeceased by his sister, Betty Guild Blake of Arizona and his brother, Robert, of Honolulu. He is survived by his wife, Ann, of 44 yrs., step-daughter, Terryl Phillips of California and seven nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Aug. 28 at 9:00 a.m. at the Outrigger Canoe Club. The family suggests donations be made to East Maui Animal Refuge, 25 Maluaina Pl, Haiku, Hi. 96708, or the charity of their choice.

Jeffrey January 31, 1957-July13, 2017 60, passed away at home with his loving family at his side. Jeff was born in Honolulu to James and Tsurue "Lori" Henmi (both deceased). He grew up in Manoa valley and attended Manoa, Stevenson and Roosevelt High School(Class of 1975). He graduated from UH Manoa with a degree in Economics. Jeff worked in the Real Estate Appraisal field for more than 30 years, starting with the Real Property Tax Division for the City & County of Honolulu and as a Residential Appraiser for Yamaguchi & Yamaguchi, Bank of America and J. Michael Chun & Co. After his dad's passing, Jeff assumed the day to day operations of Henmi Apartments, Inc. and also as caregiver to mom and guardian to brother Daniel. With help of friend and broker, Ron Lee of Real Estate, Inc., Jeff began a second career as a Realtor. He also pursued and obtained licensure as a Real Estate Agent for ADG Realty in the state of Nevada. While Jeff was loved and respected by his family and extended family members, the true testament to his kindness, generosity and loyalty was the outpouring of love and care shown by his life long friends and the new ones he made along the way. Jeff is survived by his wife and best friend, Georgette; sons Paul (Malia) and Colin Medeiros (of MN), Drew (Sandra) Henmi and daughter Kelli (Chris Hayama) Henmi; granddaughters, Jordan, Bailey, Cameron and Payton Medeiros (of MN); grandson Kevin Hayama; sister Irene (Yoshi) Otake; brother Daniel and the entire extended Nahina family.
