Betty Shizuka Ige

92 of Honolulu passed away on July 5, 2017. She was born on August 12, 1924 in Lahaina Maui and raised two daughters, Judy Odachi (Bert Maeda) and Laura Dangers (Ed). She worked as a housemaid while attending Baldwin High School, worked at Young Laundry and the Tropics Restaurant as a bookkeeper, and retired from the IIikai Hotel after 21 years of service; all the while also working part time at several different jobs. Besides her two daughters, she is survived by one brother, Yasuo Matsui, three sisters, Kay Kuwamoto, Frances Tanaka and Barbara Wong, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on July 12, 2017 at Nuuanu Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the well wishers who attended her service.
