May 20, 1931-August 12, 2017 Age 86, of Hawaii Kai, died peacefully on August 12, 2017. He was born in Kalihi on May 20, 1931 to Margaret Kalama Medeiros Wills and Charles Kalei Wills. He graduated from St. Louis High in 1949 and was the first native Hawaiian scholar-athlete to attend and play football at Linfield College in McMinnville, OR. In 2004 he was inducted into the Linfield Athletic Department's Hall of Fame. Al was an educator, coach and athletic director and held head football coaching assignments at both St. Louis School and Kalani High in the 1960s. Al is preceeded in death by his wife Annette Lutero Wills; and sisters Winifred Ruddell and Winona Costales. He is survived by his son Wayne K. (Sheri); grandsons Shayne K. (Mikella) and Hayden K.; sisters Evelyn Faurot and Avis Tang; sister-in-law Yvonne Lutero; brother-in-law Lenny Lutero (Sharon) of Redmond, OR; long-time partner Shirley Lee; and dozens of nieces and nephews. His activities included traveling and watching sporting events. Service Information Visitation Friday, September 22, 2017 @ 9:00 a.m. with services to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Diamond Head Mortuary. Funeral Service Friday, September 22, 2017 @ 2:00 p.m. at Hawaii State. Veterans Cemetary, Kaneohe, HI.
