Lucille Setsuko Caldwell
Lucille Setsuko Caldwell76, of Aiea, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017. She was born on December 23, 1940, in Naalehu, Hawai'i, to Masami and Satoko (Imada) Tachibana. She was raised in Naalehu, then moved to O'ahu to attend Farrington High School, graduating in 1958. She earned a B. A. and teaching certificate from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, in 1962. A lifelong teacher of mathematics, she and her family lived at various times on Kauai, Guam, and O'ahu. She was a teacher, then the Dean of Students, at St. Andrew's Priory before becoming the Program Officer for the Episcopal Church in Hawai'i. After retiring she volunteered at the Bible Institute of Hawaii, Hospice Hawaii and Project Dana. She enjoyed traveling, baking and spending time with her grand- children. Lucille is survived by her husband David, three daughters, Amy Yonashiro (Terry), Patti Nagami (Craig) and Lisa Tamura Tanoue (Clayton), six grandchildren, Ryan (Breianna), Brandyn, Loren, Brent, Trevor and Jaycie, and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah. She is also survived by her sisters, Marilyn Nishioka (Roy) and Georgiana Kobayashi (Albert), nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Aiea, on Saturday, October 28th, aloha attire. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, service at 10:00 am. The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church or The American Cancer Society. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Arrangements Provided By: Ultimate Cremation Services
