85, of Honolulu, passed away on October 20, 2017. Born in Kona, HI, raised on Oahu. After graduating St. Francis school of nursing she moved to Chicago to work, and while at the University of Chicago, she met the love of her life, Dr. Leslie Higa. After marrying and starting their family they relocated to Iowa City, IA, where they lived for over 35 years. She was a retired RN for the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and remained a loyal Hawkeye fan her entire life. Preceded in death by husband, Leslie and siblings; Robert, Charley, Gloria, Alice, Albert, John and Richard. She is survived by sons Mark and Elliott, daughter Elizabeth, hanai son Dennis, grandchildren, Kelsie Kei and Christopher, brother Clifford and sisters Eva Yoon and Pat Saunders. The family asks that you spend time with your loved ones, 4-legged ones included. Laugh lots and take time to enjoy Costco hot dogs, filet o fish and iced soy lattes. Make a toast to enduring friendships lifelong and beyond...that is what our mom would wish.
