RUBEN (RAYMOND) ARELLIANO79, of Honolulu, a retired Glazier, Passed away peacefully on Oct. 26, 2017 at Kaiser Moanalua Hospital, where he was surrounded by his family. He was born in Lahaina, Maui. There are so many words to describe his wonderful personality, but he was most fulfilled as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, great- grandfather and dear friend. He is survived by his wife, Karen Arelliano and his children - Kaylene Eberman (Bob), Raynette Estores (Shane), Kevin (Cilla), Gavin (Joni), Raylyne Fernandez (Aina), & Chandra Fulgueras (Ramel). He was Blessed with 5 grandchildren- Keesha Gascon (Hinano), Keenan, Presca, Prescious & Shayna Kamana. As well as his 7 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother George (Marlene), sisters Vicky & Janet. Will remember him for his outgoing personality, wonderful cooking and mostly for his famous Filipino dessert-Cascaron. NOEL D. BIGORNIA BAPTISTASUNRISE: December 11, 1965 SUNSET: October 2, 2017 Born in Waialua, Hawaii. At the Waialua Plantation Hospital. He is the second son of Dionicio Miguel Baptista and Viola Bigornia Baptista. Noel grew up and was raised in Waialua where he went to Waialua Elementary School. The family moved to Pearl City and he went to Manana Elementary School, Pearl City Highlands, and then to Pearl City High School. He worked as a newspaper boy during 1978-1981. After graduation from high school he worked as a gas station attendant at Waimalu Chevron. He then went to work at Au's Plumbing. He enrolled at Leeward Community College and HCC where he studied drafting and graphic arts. Noel then decided to join the Sheet Metal Union, where he landed a job at Master Sheet Metal where he worked for 27 years and became a journeyman with the Local Union 293 until He passed away to be with the Lord. Noel was such a good person to be with, loving, generous, and friendly. He was always trying to make people around him laugh by telling humorous stories and jokes. He also loved to cook and socialize. He loved cars, going to the swap meet to look for deals, and most of all his family and friends. He is survived by his mother Viola, brother Diovi, and his auntie Velma. He is also survived by his aunties, uncles, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and relatives. Visitation for the Celebration of Noel's life will be at Mililani Memorial Park Mauka Chapel on Friday, December 15, 2017. Wake Service will start at 5:30 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. On December 16, 2017, the final viewing will start at 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am until 12:00pm. Burial will be followed at 12:30 pm.

Brendan Kennedy Kehoe Kamani Buchwach BRENDAN KENNEDY KEHOE KAMANI BUCHWACH 12/21/64 - 11/29/17 of Hawaiian/Portuguese heritage, Brendan was adopted into the Buck and Peggy Buchwach Ohana through the intercession of Frank Sinatra, and brought home Christmas morning to the house in Niu Valley that was purchased in anticipation of his birth. It is the same house he and his wife, L Kae Graniel, had recently moved into before his passing. Given the Hawaiian name Ke'ao opua by Mary Kawena Pukui. A handsome, highly intelligent, many-gifted person with a great sense of humor and desire to be in service of others - he attended Kamehameha, and graduated from Kalani. Brendan also attended Kapiolani Community College. He was active, playing soccer with the Hawaii Kai Sharks, Kamehameha, and Kalani. He enjoyed boogie boarding at Sandy's, live music, and photography. He was an avid reader and scrabble player. Wherever he worked he always quickly rose in position and recognition - named employee of the year for 13 stores in Hawaii/California by Pier 1 Imports, and most recently promoted to manager of The Honolulu Fitness Center at Fort Street Mall after just 3 weeks of employment. On December 12, 1992 (Sinatra's birthday) Brendan's first marriage was to April Hom, and they had son, Bradd Aaron Ikaika Hom Buchwach in July of 95'. Forever enamored of East Oahu and his numerous "Niu Valley Boys", as a young child he admired firemen and they, in turn, came to his rescue (at Station 1) when he suffered an aorta tear which led to his passing. On November 11th of this year, after a ten-year courtship, he married L. Kae Graniel. She was the love of his life and was a calming influence on him. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Bernice Kehoe (who called him "Honey Boy" and was his chief caregiver while his parents worked) also pre-deceasing him was his father, Buck Aaron Buchwach, who dubbed him "Handsome Harry". Brendan is survived by his wife, son, mother, Peggy Kehoe Buchwach, brothers Brett (Debbie), Brian, Bruce and Barron "Buzz", sisters Barbara "Sande" Amesley, Ph.d., Bonnie Swanson MD (David, M.D.), hanai sisters Viviane Mariteragi, Mitara Bougerie and numerous nieces and nephews. Ashes will be privately scattered and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 3:00pm at Calvary Lutheran Church, Aina Haina. Calvary Lutheran Church, Aina Haina, was a good influence in Brendan's life and he, in turn, volunteered there with the work of the Angel Network.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hawaii Community Foundation 827 Fort Street Mall, Honolulu 96813 where an endowment has been set up in the name of Brendan Buchwach. Funds will be channeled to Waikiki Health Center.

Age 97, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2017 at the Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 7, 1920 in Waialua, Oahu to Lucy and Edward Wharton and was the last survivor of eight siblings. A retired travel agent with United Travel Agency, she was active with the Travel Women of Hawaii, The Church of the Holy Nativity, and a lifelong member and past president of the Chinese Women's Club. Miriam is survived by children, Gordon C. F. (Rena), Geraldyne Coombs, Gaynielle (Vernon) Hirata, and Ganette (Keith) Copeland and by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon S. C. and Richard S. Y., and son, Garret C. H. (Betty Lou McKee). A private service was held on December 2, 2017. Linda Kay DeanLinda Kay Dean, age 69, of Ewa Beach passed away at home on November 28, 2017. She was born October 5, 1948 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Robert and Ellen Billings. She has one older brother, Thomas Billings. She was a 1967 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Linda has lived all over the world- including in Germany and England before making Hawaii home. With her creativity, organizational skills and her ability to connect with people and children-Linda has been the director of Youth and Activity Centers for the Air Force and the Navy- both in the U.S. and abroad. Linda was also a dedicated Foster and Emergency Shelter parent for 20 Years and helped to care for and give homes to over 500 children. Her interests and hobbies included Genealogy, all things related to Ireland, Scotland & England, Crossword & Intellectual puzzles, mysteries, crafting, reading and creative writing. Linda was known for her kind heart, witty sense of humor, entertaining life stories, gift of gab, and her perceptive, empathetic nature. This beloved Mother, proud Grandma and Best Friend will be greatly missed. Survived by husband of 40 years, James Frisbie of Waialua. Son Matthew of Lahaina, Hi. Daughter Elizabeth and Grandson Max of Haleiwa, Hi. Sister, Pattie Schofield, Irvine Ca. Brother Billy Greene of Capistrano Beach, Ca. We were all so privileged to be in her presence during her final months. Nancy was a most remarkably loving and funny woman. Nancy loved to cook, laugh and entertain. As a teacher / counselor, she was a professional. Students loved her, gathered about her. She believed, taught and lived the truth; "Those that are the hardest to love, are the ones that need love the most." Nancy's greatest joys; her family, children, grandson Max. She will be greatly missed. Nancy's final teaching assignment as an anatomy professor at John Burns Medical School recently concluded. Private services by family will be spring, 2018.

ARTHUR EARL GOLDBERGERWWII Veteran, Loving Husband and Father: Arthur Earl Goldberger, 96, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 6am at Tripler Army Medical Center. He was the most amazing man that ever lived. All of his wishes were granted, he passed so peacefully and his work on Earth was complete. He was a great Teacher to all that met him. Born January 12, 1921 in Pine Bluff Arkansas. Arthur joined the US Army Air Corps in 1949, well before the Air Corps became the Air Force. He was a pilot through WW2, the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. He blessed this earth with his presence, wisdom and love. In Vietnam, in 1967 he met the love of his life, Ngyuen Thi Bach Hoa, now Helenne Goldberger. He had 3 children Charles, Gene and Judy. Sadly, both Charles and Gene have passed as well and have met him in Heaven. They are together now. He is survived by his wife Helenne and his daughter Judy. His services are as follows: 12/12 Tuesday, Wake service, Borthwick Mortuary downtown, 6-7pm food and refreshments provided 12/13 Wednesday, Memorial service, Tripler Army Medical Center Chapel, 3D, 5-6pm food and refreshments provided 12/14 Thursday, Burial service, Kaneohe Veteran's cemetery, 2pm SHARP, WW2 Full Honors Burial committal service Special thanks to Dr. Paul Allred and his Team at Tripler Army Medical Center for their expert help to Arthur and his Family.
