Oliver Kiyoshi Oi

91 of Honolulu died peacefully on August 1, 2017. Born Kiyoshi Oi on September 20, 1925, he attended McKinley High School, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945, just prior to the end of World War II. He served with the occupation force in Japan and was in the Military Intelligence Service. In 1951, he received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Hawaii, married Hazel Kimiyo Tatsuguchi of Hauula, and entered active duty as a 2nd Lieutenant. He added the name Oliver in 1953 and was a career Army officer, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Oliver retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1969, but he continued to work in the intelligence community for the federal government for 21 years, mainly in Maryland. Upon his second retirement in 1990, he moved back home to Honolulu. In addition to being a caring husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed music and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Hazel, and survived by sons, Wendell (Susan) Oi of Honolulu, David (Faith) Oi of Gainesville, Florida; daughters, Carol (Charles) Meek of Kilauea, Kauai, Christine (Edwin) Kise of Kohala, Hawaii; 7 grand- children; and brother (Tsutomu Oi) of Honolulu. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Visitation at 10am, Service at 11am. Interment to follow at Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Dinamay Revera67, of Mililani, Hawaii, passed away on November 11,2017 at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas. She went on to her eternal home during her visit to Las Vegas, a place she really loved. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Inocentes and Martha Montecillo on May 1, 1950. She was the youngest of 10. Dina is survived by husband Ruspel "Russ" Revera; son Russell (Lori) Revera; daughters Kristie Revera and Cheryl (Wayne) Kuni; brothers Edwardo (Melinda) Yrojo; Benjamin (Bernadette) Yrojo; Gilbert (Doris) Yrojo; Inocentes Jr. (Josephine) Montecillo; sisters Benita Sonan and Ludivina (Abraham) Martin; 6 grandchildren Taezhan Graves; Thane Kuni; Ayden Revera; Thor Kuni; Thaddeus Kuni and Madison Revera. She graduated from Aiea High in 1968. Dina was employed by Sumida Au & Wong, LLLC., where she was still employed. She was a devoted Catholic and an active member at Saint Elizabeth Church. She was also in a ladies group called Forever Friends Elite Club. Celebration of Life will be from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary's Mauka Chapel. James Mitsunori Tsutsumi JAMES MITSUNORI TSUTSUMI James Mitsunori Tsutsumi (76) of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on Monday, November 7, 2017 lovingly surrounded by family in his Winston-Salem home. He was born on September 24, 1941 on the island of Oahu to the late Hisao and Chisato Tsutsumi. He is survived by his daughter, Maile Victoria Tsutsumi Harding and son-in-law Dr. Tom Harding. He also leaves behind two brothers; Norman (Thelma) and Milton (Carol) Tsutsumi as well as, four sisters; Florence Nakamura, Eleanor Young, Amy Fukunaga and Lynn Tagawa. Mr. Tsutsumi served in the U.S. Armed Forces for an extended tour in Korea before returning home and securing a job with the telephone company as a PBX installer. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and will forever be remembered by friends and family for his love of golf, fishing and travel. His celebration of life was held at the family's home on Sunday November 12, 2017 at 3:00p.m.
