Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he was a WW II Army veteran; later a data processing manager for the Air Force and retired as Master Sergeant for the Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Tomiko Akiyoshi Mastin; sons, Philip and James (Jalene) Mastin; daughters, Eileen (Herb) Tabert and Eleanor (Steven) Castro; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary; service 2:00 p.m. Commital service and inurnment 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
