93, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2017. He was a hematologist in private practice from 1956 to 2014. Also former Professor of Medicine, University of Hawaii School of Medicine, Chief of Medicine at St. Francis Hospital Honolulu, and was consultant in hematology for Queen's, Kuakini, Children, Leahi, and Tripler Hospitals. He devoted time to research and discovered 3 new abnormal hemoglobins. Survived by wife, Annette L. I. Jim; children Allan J. M. Jim, Sharon M. L. (Andy) Cole; Carolyn M. K. Jim, Brian J. C. (Heather) Jim; grandchildren Benjamin D. Cole, Joshua D. Cole, Lilly C. M. Jim, Miles C. M. Jim. Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 27, 2018, St. Clement's Church 1515 Wilder Avenue, 1 P. M. Visitation, 2 P. M. service followed with reception. Suggested donations to St. Clement's Church or University of Hawaii Foundation for John A. Burns School of Medicine.
