Preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Yin Ching Nakamura, he is survived by his father, Tamotsu Nakamura; brother, Bruce (Nell) Nakamura; sisters, Blanche (Frank) Arakaki, Karen (Andy) Matsumoto and Lori Baba; nieces and nephews.
