90, of Pearl City, died at home on December 8, 2017. He was born on January 18, 1927 in Waialua, Oahu. Retired from the Hawaii Dept of Planning and Economic Development, he is survived by his wife (Michiko), son (Russell Kato), daughters (Joyce Kato and Kathleen Dellplain), grandchildren (Puanani Briones, Leinaala Hilea, Keoni Chong, Jessica Kato, Laura Dellplain and Melanie Dellplain) and six great grandchildren. He was interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl). Private services were held. The family requests no monetary offerings (koden) or flowers.
