Dr. Gay Keiko Tokumaru BessenMay 6, 1962 - March 9, 2018 Dr. Gay Tokumaru Bessen, 55, died on March 9th, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. Gay grew up in Hawaii and graduated from Punahou School, Brown University and UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Tokumaru went on to become the Chief of Optometry at the Hampton VA Medical Center in Virginia, a professional journey that provided care to our veterans for 29 years. Gay is survived by her husband Andy, her mother Ann Tokumaru, her cats, her two brothers, numerous family and great friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by father, Paul. Her memorial service will be held at Hosoi Mortuary on Monday, April 9th. Visitation from 10 to 11, followed by services. Scattering of the ashes will be on April 10th. Psalm 91 Nena M Bumanglag, 89, of Kailua passed peacefully at home on March 7, 2018 embraced in love by family members. She is predeceased by Monico Mendoza, adopted father, Mercedes Acido Lacangan, mother, Bernardo A. Lacangan, step-father, her siblings, Helen Rabut, Elisio Mendoza, James Mendoza (WWII Veteran, buried at Punchbowl Cemetery), and nephew, Rodney Tabion. A beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her Husband Hilarion A. Bumanglag, Sr. (ret. Pearl Harbor); her Children, Patricia (Robert) Texeira, Gregory (Wendy) Dikilato, Jr., Marilyn (Jose) Abejon, Stephanie (Alan Sr., deceased) Silva , Angel (Damian) DePasquale, Hilarion Bumanglag, Jr., and Tracey Bumanglag (Sean) Taoka; Step-children; Estrelita Nelson, Carmella Saldavia, Sharon Murphy and Rochelle Deitz; Sister-in-law, Penny (Elisio) Mendoza; Nephews; Michael William (Donna) Mendoza, James Ivan (Liane) Mendoza, Kenneth Tabion, David (Donna) Tabion, and Nieces; Judy Toyofuku, Debra (Michael) Gearon, and Linda Soriano. Nena was also blessed with 13 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, 3 Great-great grandchildren and 18 Step-grand and great grandchildren. In former years (1960's), Nena was the President of the Filipino American Women's Civic Club of Honolulu which celebrated the annual martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal at Ala Moana Beach Park on June 30th of each year. She was also one of the innovators in organizing the Filipino American Civic Club in Waipahu. She held positions with Cardinal Mailing Service, Honolulu Rapid Transit, Builders Construction Report Magazine, Sun Press, Metropolitan Life, and MCI. Two of her more interesting jobs were picking pineapples for Dole, and modeling for Liberty House. Nena also taught Sunday School and Bible Study for Kailua Baptist Church in the 1970's. Ultimately, she dedicated herself to caring for her family, creating a beautiful home, cooking, and entertaining friends. With dancing as her passion, Nena and Lari joined the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association in the early 1980's where she also held a position in their Aikahi office. They spent many weekends at the Palladium dancing the night away! We love you, mommy. Services will be held on April 18, 2018 at St. John Vianney Church, 920 Keolu Dr., Kailua. Frederick “Cappy” Caminos

Frederick ~ Always in our Hearts ~ Surrounded by his wife and ohana, Frederick "Cappy" Caminos, age 76, went home to our Lord and Savior on February 3, 2018. He was born in Honolulu and raised in Waianae. After 32 years of service, he retired from the Department of Public Safety, Sheriff's Division, as the First Deputy Sheriff for the State of Hawaii. Earlier, he worked for the City and County of Honolulu Road Division and also as a cement truck driver for Pacific Concrete. In later years, his love for God never wavered. His positive spirit brought comfort and aloha to all around him. Cappy touched countless people in his lifetime by simply loving and caring for others. He remained socially conscious and politically active. Cappy was a lifetime member of the National Sheriff's Association, board member of the Hawaii Law Enforcement Association (HLEA), and honorary board member of the Law Enforcement Community Foundation (LECF). He was a frequent traveler to Las Vegas with his wife, Kiki, who will be lovingly remembered as his devoted caregiver. He is survived by his wife Luwana "Kiki" Caminos; sons, Frederick Caminos, Jr. and James Caminos; daughters, Francine (Michael) Gahan, Freddielyn "Lynn" (Eliu) Wilson and Fredrene "Rena" Caminos; step-daughters, Kelly (Stuart) Machado and Michele (Richard Stevenson) Chillingworth; brothers, Albert "Tuna" (Aileen) Caminos, Cornelius (Charmaine) Caminos, Virginio "V.A." Caminos and Nazarene (Rena) Deuibar; sisters, Judy (Herman) Medeiros and Corinthia "Haunani" (Michael) Ferreira; 24 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his parents David Kalakaua Caminos and Annie Kealoha Ke; his brothers, Lincoln Caminos and David Caminos; his sister, Darlene Kon. His Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Mililani Mortuary's Mauka Chapel. Visitation: 9:30 a.m.; Services: 11:30 a.m.; Burial: 1:30 p.m. There will be a passby through the downtown Honolulu business district beginning at 8:30 a.m.

97, born February 22, 1920, passed away on January 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Yui Chun and Kam Fung Lee, she graduated from McKinley High School and worked for the Federal Government. Edith was well known for her ability to laugh at herself, her incredible energy, her love for own and her sibling's children, and her frugality as well as her generosity. "Auntie Edith" to us all, we were loved, influenced and inspired by her. Her strength and encouragement made one forget one's troubles and gave one hope. She will be dearly missed. Survived by her daughter, Patricia Norris (Neil) Godfrey, her granddaughter Catherine (Todd) Atkins and her two Great grandchildren, Hailey (7) and Hunter (5) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their loved ones. Edith's Celebration of Life service will be held at Central Union Church on April 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Union Church, "In memory of Edith Chun Dalton."

Franklin Cheadle GeigerFranklin Cheadle Geiger, 89, of Honolulu, left earth for Heaven on February 15, 2018, and the earth grieved. He was a gentleman with an integrity and a kindness this world so rarely finds. Born in Portland, Oregon on September 29, 1928. There he earned his MBA and JD, and worked as Vice President and Controller at Meyer & Frank. He arrived in Honolulu as new Controller at Liberty House in 1965, and later became President and CEO for Andrade, McInerny and Carol & Mary. He also helped found the Honolulu Chapter of the Christian Businessmen's Association, and in retirement continued to serve the community as a legal volunteer in several capacities. What mattered to Frank, as a Christian, was honoring God as best he could, and he quietly did so without complaint or seeking recognition. He was a faithful family man to the love of his life, Doris Kametani Geiger, with whom he shared 43 happy years of marriage. He is survived by children Jonathan (Debbie) Kim, Franklin (Xiena) Geiger Jr, Stephen (Katie) Geiger, Wendy Kim, Laurie Geiger (Eric Thostenson), Gregg Geiger, and Carolin Geiger; sister Sylvia (Harry Feyen); 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. "He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" Robert Louis Hansen79, passed away on January 31, 2018. He was born on July 24, 1938 in Pauoa Valley, to Carl and Theresa Hansen. He attended Akina Elementary School; when that school closed he went to Lincoln Elementary School, where he played sham battle games. He attended all the army movies at the Army Camp at Pauoa School & Boothpark. Robert attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956. After high school, he joined the Air Force in 1956; where he worked on the B47E, stationed in New Mexico (2 yrs), Pease Air Force Base (2 yrs). After getting discharged in 1960, he worked at Aloha Airlines and at the Hawaiian Village from 1961-1962. In 1962, he joined the police department; working in different departments of the HPD. He retired from the HPD in 1989, after serving the public for 27 yrs. He married Diana Carpio in 1964. He also joined the FBI Academy 105th class for 3 months in 1996. He worked as security for Hawaii Protective Agency from 1989-1991, for Wacken Hut - Airport from 1992 to 2000, at the US District Court security from 2000 to 2006, when he retired.
