Of Kane`ohe, Hawaii, passed away March 1, 2018. She was born in Hilo, Hawaii on June 10, 1936, attended Hilo High School and the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. She became a long-time music teacher with the Hawai'i Department of Education, retiring from Pearl City Highlands Intermediate School in 1995. Roberta enjoyed tending to her yard and watching her beloved Korean dramas. Her kind and generous spirit, humorous stories, and hearty laughter will be missed. She is survived by husband Thomas A. Lau, son Allan J.N. Lau, daughter Kristie S.J. Lau, sister Loretta (Fong) Ark of Bridgewater, NJ, brother Wendall (Aileen) Chong, sister-in-lau Evelyn Chong, her nieces and nephews, and 19 grand-dogs. She is predeceased by her brother, Ronald Chong. Please join her family at a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 p,m. at Anchor Church (45-815 Po`okela St.) in Kane`ohe. Visitation at 1:00 p.m. and refreshments will follow the service. Burial will be Monday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hawai`i State Veterans Cemetery (45-349 Kamehameha Hwy) in Kane`ohe.
