DENNIS E. W. O'CONNOR, SR. DENNIS E. W. O'CONNOR, SR. Dennis E.W. O'Connor Sr. father, son, grandfather, and loving husband of Mary Elizabeth Peden O'Connor passed away on April 12, 2018. He was 88 years old. O'Connor was born on January 25, 1930 and grew up in Kuli`ou`ou, Hawaii. He graduated from Punahou School in 1948, and went on to serve in the United States Navy after graduating from the Naval Academy in 1952. O'Connor graduated from the George Washington University School of Law in 1961. O'Connor was a senior partner at O'Connor Playdon Guben & Inouye. He was a retired Captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve, qualified to command submarines and destroyers, and received the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, UN Service Award, and Korean Service Award. O'Connor also served as a Hawai`i State Representative and Senator, a Councilman for the Honolulu City Council, and was a past Chair of the Democratic Party for the State of Hawai`i. He was a Fellow and past State Chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Fellow with the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and was an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. O'Connor successfully defended the constitutionality of the Hawai`i Land Reform Act in the Hawai`i Supreme Court and United States Supreme Court and subsequently tried many lawsuits obtaining fee land for lessees in Hawai`i. O'Connor is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Elizabeth, daughter Kathleen (John Lupo), sons Dennis Jr. (Louise), Whitney (Cherie) and Prosper, grandchildren Auli`i Dudoit (Travis), Kanoa and Nalu O'Connor, Ellie and Clare Lupo, Jon Gregory, and great- grandchildren Paliku and Ruth Mahie. Also, brother Wm. Patrick, stepsister Delphine Cloe (Michael), and stepbrother Warren Vilmaire. Predeceased by brother John Kevin and stepbrother Michael Vilmaire. Services will be held on May 19, 2018 at 11: 00 a.m. at Mary, Star of the Sea Church. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make donations to Punahou School.

Passed away on March 23, 2018 at the age of 84 in Honolulu. She was born on September 04, 1933. She was retired from Marsh & McLennan Agency. She is preceded in death by her father Satokichi Shiohira and mother Tsuroko Shiohira. She is survived by her husband, Seikichi "Spencer" Okaneku; sons, Jerome Okaneku, Ward Okaneku, Stacey Okaneku, and Kyle Okaneku, grandchildren, Jolene Yehl, Lisa Okaneku, Cason Okaneku, Kurt Okaneku, and Sean Okaneku, and numerous nephews, nieces, aunties, uncles and cousins. Victor Kaiwi PangVictor Kaiwi Pang, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2018. He was 80. Kaiwi was a charter member of Ainahau o Kaleponi Hawaiian Civic Club and founded the Mainland Council of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, serving as its first Council President. Kaiwi grew up in Wailuku, Maui and graduated from St. Anthony High School (class of "56). An Army veteran, Kaiwi moved to California where he married his wife of 50 years, Jane Kaala Mock. He worked as a quality aerospace engineer on the Apollo and Space Shuttle missions with Rockwell International. He is survived by his wife, his 2 sons, Benton Kealiikiamoku, and Edmund Kamekona (Wendy); and 4 grand- children, Kiana Keakealani, Makena Kaleilokelani, Kalia Kamaluuluolele, and Tayden Kalua; sisters Lea Williams, Mei Mailou-Santos and brother Randy Saito. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Amoi Akiona and Peter Quon Cheu Pang, and his sister Denise (Hopkins). Services on May 11, 2018. Visitation, 10:30, Services: 11:30 am - 12:15 pm. at Diamond Head Mortuary. Lunch to follow on-site. Burial, 2:00 pm. Alfred L. De Rego Jr.Alfred De Rego Jr. was born on May 02, 1931 in Haina, Hawaii (Big Island). He was born to Frederick (Alfred) De Rego and Mary Rodrigues. He ascended into Heaven on Saturday, April 07, 2018. He retired from Hawaiian Electric Company. He then retired from Caesar Cleaners. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 66 years Diana J. De Rego. He was a wonderful father to his daughters Noreen De Rego, Belinda (Candy) De Rego and Robin De Rego. His 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren were blessed to have an amazing Papa. Alfred was known to many. He was a pillar at the 6:00 pm mass on Saturdays at St Ann's Church. He loved to clean the statue outside of the church and always fixed the Blessed Mother's broken finger. He constantly taught his children lessons and was willing to help build anything and everything his children needed to succeed in school. Alfred left a legacy like no other. He was a loving husband who showered Diana with fresh flowers weekly. Up until the very end of his life he was teaching his daughters lessons. His family shared amazing and special moments with him in his journey that we hold dear to our hearts. He made sure his family was prepared and ready for him to go home to Jesus. He fought an amazing fight for life.
