Ichiro Hayashi passed away peacefully at the ripe old age of 96 in Mesa, Arizona on April 8, 2018. He was born in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii on June 3, 1921 and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1939. Preceded in death by wife Laura Hashimoto Hayashi (2002), Ichiro is survived by two daughters, Susan Blackshaw of Mesa, Arizona and Janice Hayashi of Honolulu; grandchildren: Owen Ichiro Blackshaw and Kelli Franke of Arizona, and Sarah Emerson of San Francisco; great-grandson, Samuel Ichiro Blackshaw of Arizona; younger brothers, Saburo Hayashi of Kaneohe and Jiro Hayashi of Wahiawa, Memorial services were held in Gold Canyon, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gold Canyon United Methodist Church Playground Building Fund, which can be mailed to the church.
