James P.D. Thropp, Jr. 83 of Honolulu and Paauilo, HI died in Honolulu April 24, 2018. He was the son of James and Lena B. Thropp. He graduated from Punahou School and California State Polytechnic College at San Dimas, CA. In addition, he later earned a degree in Business Administration from University of Hawaii-Hilo. Jim worked on various Hawaiian sugar plantations as an agronomist. He retired when Hamakua Sugar, HI closed. He was a long time member of the Hawaii Farm Bureau. Jim was kind, thoughtful, smart and funny. He was an old fashioned gentleman who lived his religion. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Nancy and James Skelsey of Austin, TX. Jim had cousins in Honolulu, Maui, California, South Carolina and Canada. Services privately held. Arrangements Provided By: Diamond Head Mortuary
