FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Salvador Solidum, “Sonny”
Salvador Solidum, SALVADOR SOLIDUM, SONNY A free spirited adventurer, independent sojourner, and expert in Aikido went home to our Father at the tender age of 87 on May 7, 2018 at Wahiawa General Long-Term Care Facility leaving behind a legacy of loving-goodness and unconditional generosity to his family. An unwavering patriot and a member of the Brotherhood - St. Louis College Class of 1948 he enlisted after graduation and was assigned to the U.S. Army 34th Division of Photomapping at the height of the Korean Conflict. Upon separation he enrolled in the University of Wyoming where he received his Baccalaureate degree in geology which coupled with his vast mapping military experience garnered him a position at the U.S. Department of Interior Geological Survey in Menlo Park, CA where he retired from the agency's Branch of Geometronics. He traveled across the U.S. creating, charting, and modifying government topography maps which is used today. He returned to Hawaii in 2015 after the demise of his sister, Georgia and lived with his younger sister, Evelyn, until his passing. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Narcisso and Sergia Yabo Solidum, his sister Georgia DeRego, and his brother, Florentino Solidum. He is survived by his brothers, James and Elmer Solidum and his sister Evelyn Au. He is also survived by his nephews Arlin, Nathan, and Tobi Solidum, Bobby, Clevis, and Tom DeRego, Elmer, Jr., Roma, Louis, and Kawika Solidum, Michael Richards, Emory and Eric Au; his nieces Kamomi Solidum, Debra DeRego Chauvel, Roxanne Solidum Bruhn, Elisa Solidum Kacir, Yasuko Solidum, Erin Au Martin and his many Pacarro, Suan, and Oliva cousins.
