Daniel Santana 86, of Waipahu, a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, who was retired from the United States Army and a retired civil servant for the United States Navy, passed away on June 21, 2018 at Hale Ho Aloha. He was born in Kekaha, Kauai. He is survived by his wife, Hatsuko; son, David; daughters, Yumi (Michael) O'Connell and Judy Shigeta; Sister, Charlotte Santana (Larry) Unciano; and by three grandchildren and one great-grand- child. He is survived by sons Ernest (Barbara) Abaya, Jonathan and Jace Flores, brothers Nemecio "Jr" (Anne) and Daniel (Kathy) Abaya, sisters Dixie "Linda" Kingsolver, Myra (Bill) Louia, and Mary Abaya, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Daniel DANIEL "DANNY" AH FAH AKAMU Daniel "Danny" Ah Fah Akamu of Mililani joined our Lord & Savior on 15 June, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alafou Sene; son Danny Wesley Akamu-Ogata; daughter Ramona Ilima (Eric) Akamu-Ross; son Kawika Nu'u (Judie) Akamu; hanai daughters: Rachel Filifiliauro Sene, Darnet Toeaga Sene, Magali'i Hagedorn; grandson Roman-Kawika Fetalaiga'amaui'a Jones; granddaughter Emerald Rose Mayo; sisters: Kamila (Dennis Mahoney) Andersen, Pauline (Tom) Walton, and Sharon Akamu along with many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Danny was a devoted husband, and loving father, grandfather and friend to all. He was born on 7 August, 1946 to Beatrice Cazimero Akamu (deceased) and Ah Fah Akamu (deceased) and was older brother to Calvin Kui Fah Akamu (deceased), and grandfather to infant Kaleikaumaka Akamu-Mayo (deceased). Danny had a passion for music and loved to sing and play guitar. He also loved bowling, gardening, cooking, and Las Vegas. He dedicated 20 years to the United States Army, working in Pharmaceutical Units at Tripler Army Medical Center (AMC), Ft Shafter, Schofield Barracks, and Walter Reed AMC in Washington, DC. Danny did two tours in Korea and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Following his active duty career, Danny worked in Civil Service for 28 years. Tending to his garden on the weekends and cooking for his family was a great joy. He also spent many years in various bowling leagues. Danny was always there to help friends and family by giving them gardening tips and fruits and vegetables from his abundant garden. He loved to sit and talk story and his home was always open to friends and family. A special thank you to the Oncology and Radiology Units, and PCU and 6B2 staffs at Tripler AMC and St. Francis Hospice for the generous care and considerate support that they provided to Danny these past months. Public visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at Mililiani Memorial Park & Mortuary, Makai Chapel, on 3 August. A Family Memorial for Danny will immediately follow at 10:30 A.M. until 11:20 A.M. Prayer Services will be at Mililani Makai Chapel at 11:30 A.M. Constance Bernadette Akamu, CONSTANCE BERNADETTE AKAMU, BERNIE Age 86, of Hilo died June 12. Born in Hilo to Antone and Constance Souza, Bernie graduated from Hilo High School and worked for the landmark Palace Theater in Hilo. Later, she joined First Hawaiian Bank as a teller, was promoted to branch secretary and became a customer consultant. She retired from the bank 31 years later. Her retirement was a fulfilling one, as she golfed frequently and traveled throughout the world. Bernie also found time to earn a black belt in Aikido. As an active member of New Hope Church Hilo, she regularly volunteered and provided assistance for the church's senior ministry. She is survived by her son Brendan R. Akamu. Her life will be celebrated at two services: in Honolulu at Church of the Crossroads, 1212 University Avenue, on August 4 (visitation at 10:30 a.m., service at 11 a.m.); and in Hilo at New Hope Church Hilo 840 Kupulau Road, August 11 (visitation at 10:30 a.m., service at 11 a.m.). WALLACE LEIALOHA ALCAZAR93 years of Hau'ula, born on Molokai, Wallace Leialoha Alcazar passed away in his wifes arms in the early morning hours of June 24, 2018. Mr Alcazar died after suffering a long illness from a cold, leading to sever infected throat complications. He married Diosdada Sanchez Adlawan aka Dee, Dolly, on February 20, 1993 in Lanikai, a beach wedding. He met his wife through his brother in law, Leonard Sanchez, and married after only 4 months of courtship. He enjoyed music very much and even more while hearing his wife sing. Loved Hawaiian music and always had a ukulele in hands. Enjoyed the ocean because of his love for fishing and is also the reason of owning many boats, loved family get-togethers, yardwork. Owned many tools as he loved to repair 'anything'. Mr. Alcazar retired from Civilian Service with the US Naval Submarine base at Pearl Harbor, after 29 years of dedicated federal service. He is survived by his wife, Diosdada Sanchez Alcazar of Hau'ula, daughters, Sally (Mike) Cervan-tes of Los Angeles, Doreen Alcazar of California and a son, Wallace L. Alcazar, of Virginia. He is also survived by his step-children, Benny (Trisha) Adlawan of Ka'u on the Big Island, Tanya (Pi'ikoi) of Kailua Kona, Debra Adlawan of Portland, Craig Adlawan of Hau'ula and Mark (Dar-lene) Adlawan of Oklahoma. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grand- children, nieces and nephews. Services to held at the Valley of the Temples Cathedral View Chapel on Monday, July 23, 2018. Visitation: 9:30am; Service: 10:30am. Light refreshments on site. Burial: 1pm at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park. All Funeral Services to be provided by Valley of the Temples.
