Wendell Edward HoApril 21, 1955 - July 19, 2018 Wendell, age 63, passed away suddenly on July 19, 2018 with his wife by his side. Wendell was born on April 21, 1955 in Honolulu to Peter Kim Fong Ho and Drusilla Abbey Leandro. Wendell was a student athlete, attending Lanakila Elementary, Kalakaua Intermediate and graduating from Punahou School in 1974. His love of sports continued into adulthood, with him playing in various community leagues and coaching youth teams. Beginning in the early 1970's Aikane Catamarans was an important part of his life, where he worked as a musician aboard the dinner sails running out of Kewalo Basin. He and his bandmates continued playing music together and entertaining at private parties through early 2018. It was while working at Aikane that he met his wife, Donna. Wendell was a Key Account Manager with Paradise Beverages, where he worked for over 33 years. Prior to that, he worked for Bevway. He was a wonderful man, a loyal friend, devoted husband, son, brother, Uncle and Godfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter, and his brother Creighton (Elvera). He is survived by his wife Donna, mother Drusilla, nephew Geoffrey Ho, nieces Valerie Ho and Samantha Ho, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and all of his nieces and nephews on the Su'a side of the family too numerous to name, but all loved greatly - and eight Godchildren. A Celebration will be held to Honor his Life on Wednesday, August 15th at the Okinawan Center in Waipio from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Please join us at an "Uncle Wendell" style party! Lei are welcome, but please no floral arrangements or wreaths. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Inurnment will be at Hawaiian Memorial Park, Mount Calvary II "Niches by the Stream" on Thursday August 16th at 1:00 pm.
