Ikuto Taketa passed away peacefully in Honolulu on July 13, 2018. He was born on December 7, 1928 on Waimea, Kauai, the fourth child of Kazuto and Kimiko Taketa. He was a proud graduate of Waimea High School and University of Hawaii and, along with his wife Gladys, was the co-founder and owner of HISCO, Ltd. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gladys (Sugiyama), brother Charles Fumito Taketa and sisters Mae Mizue Yamashiro (Andy) and Anne Sonoe Matsuoka (Pete). He is survived by his sisters Carolyn Chiye Funai (Masaru), Jane Kinue Kubota (Mitsuru), daughter Carey (Wayne Clatte), son Kelvin (Janice), grandchildren Cris Clatte (Erminia), Kanoa and Keani Taketa and great-grand- daughter Eva Clatte.
