FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

INGA DOUGHERTY
INGA DOUGHERTYDied on July 30th in her home in Kailua. Inga was born Ingeborg Missling in Berlin, Germany in 1934. She persevered when her city was bombed in World War II and had fond memories of American soldiers feeding children after they had occupied her sector of the city. In her twenties she modeled and met her first husband, American Army officer Joseph Dougherty. She moved to the USA to start a family, learn the language and to become American. They moved to Hawaii in 1969. Several years later, Inga became a Realtor and through hard work became very successful. She had a long career and was fortunate to make many friends along the way. She married John Medlock in 2004. Inga was an animal lover and a true pal to many neighborhood animals, and devoted to her beloved dog Bear. She was always learning. A glass of wine and good discussions about science, politics and the world around her kept her challenged and interested. Her passion for her work persisted and she closed her last home sale the month before she passed. Her children and grandchildren benefited from her unending support and encouragement. She will truly be missed. A special thanks to her husband John for his tireless care and dedication to her. She is survived by her husband John Medlock, sons Tom Dougherty (Julie) and Michael Dougherty and daughter Tina Shaffer. She is also survived by seven grand- children and five great-grand- children in the USA plus three nieces and nephews in the USA and six in Germany. Her celebration of life "Open House" will be held on August 15th from 4-7 pm at the Bluestone pool area. No flowers please. Any donations can by made to K9 Kokua or the Hawaiian Humane Society in her name.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
