Jean Hiroko Gokan Higa, 83, of Hilo died July 15 at the Queen's Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Lihue, Kauai, she was a homemaker and a retired elementary school teacher. Private services held. Survived by daughter, Alison Higa of Hilo; son, Shawn (Janette) Higa of Waipahu; brothers, Herbert Gokan of Oahu, Alan (Sue) Gokan of Oahu; sister, Helen Ota of Oahu; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews.
