Rita Chang Fong was called to her eternal resting place on April 26, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones. She is now reunited with some of her family members who meant the world to her including her father and mother, Kim Hoy and Alice Chang. Rita was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on April 2, 1923, and was blessed with a long and fulfilling life. After her retirement from a career she enjoyed with the Federal Government where she won numerous awards, Rita moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to be with the rest of her family. Rita is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Sabrina and Roger Danels, and Francine and Lonnie Schaffert, brother Willie Chang, sister Barbara Jeong, 4 grandchildren - Krysten, Jim, Laurie and Peter, 3 great- grandchildren Heather, Brooklyn and Jimmy, one great-great-grand- daughter, Zola, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Rita is returning home to her birthplace in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she will be laid to rest with other family members who preceded her including her beloved son, Jeff, that she loved so dearly. Her service will be held on Saturday, September 15th, at the Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel, 535 18th Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii, at 10 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Diamond Head Memorial Park.
