Barbara Emperador, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 28, 2018 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was born in Tunnel Hill, Georgia and attended and graduated from nursing school in Chattanooga, Tennessee earning her Diploma in nursing degree. She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Eugenio Emperador, from the Philippines, who died in 1996. They met in Chattanooga where she was completing her nursing degree and he was doing his medical residency in the same hospital. Barbara was an OR nurse by trade and held several OR and nursing leadership positions during her career. She is survived by her 5 children: Joel Emperador (Honolulu), Billy Emperador (California), Mike Emperador (Texas), Paul Emperador (California), and Beth Coit (California); 11 grandchildren; and multiple relatives (i.e. nieces, nephews, etc.) in Tennessee and Georgia. A private ceremony and burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Escalon, California, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Date to be determined.
