JANET SHIZUNO VICARI

JANET SHIZUNO VICARI94, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2018. She was born on June 2, 1924 in Papa'aola, Hawaii to Rikimatsu Shimooka and Mary Kame'ehonua. She was the fifth child out of 10 children who all predeceased her. Janet became the matriarch of the Shimooka family. Many described her as strong, regal, kind, and loving. She dedicated her life to her family and was a loving mother, aunt, and honored sibling. She loved God with all her heart and was a dedicated member of Ka Makua Mau Loa Church. Janet is predeceased by husband, Angelo Christopher Vicari. Janet is survived by her son Seward, daughters Marlen, Christy, and son-in-law Juvie. She has eight grandchildren; Troy, Ryan, Kelly, Christopher, Robert, Kiana, Marissa, and Meleana. She also has 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great-grandchild. A celebration of life takes place Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Waialae Country Club, Lauhala Lanai. Visitation begins at 10 am, memorial service at 11 am followed by lunch. Burial will take place at Diamond Head Cemetery at 2 pm. In lieu of floral and monetary gifts, contributions may be made to the following organizations in memory of Janet S. Vicari: Ka Makua Mau Loa Church, Central Union Church Adult Day Care & Day Health and Palolo Chinese Home Adult Day Care Center.
