Danny J. Meehan, 65, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 in Battle Creek, Michigan after a four year courageous battle with cancer.
Dann graduated from Lakeview High School, Michigan State University, attended Wayne State Law School and received his law degree from University of Michigan Law School.
Dann had a distinguished law practice in Marin County, California for 27 years and also served as a Superior Court judge. He retired to Hawaii in 1989 and taught law at Winchester College. Dann was very well respected in the legal community and received an award of special recognition from the State of Hawaii for his teaching contributions.
An adventurer at heart, Dann loved to scuba dive, travel, write, compose songs, and most of all he loved sitting around the kitchen table having late night intimate conversations with his close friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, very hearty laugh, and his true passion for enjoying life.
Dann was preceded in death by his mother, Frankie; father, Dr. John Meehan, and is survived by his sister, Cheryl (Steven) Weaver of Boynton Beach, Florida; step-sister, Louanne Davis of Bradenton, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek. Memorial donations may go to Multiple Myeloma Foundation at http://myeloma.org.
