Age 75, of Waipahu, Hawaii., passed away May 14, 2010 in Honolulu. Born July 13, 1934 in Koloa, Kauai. Was raised in Aiea. Mr. Popa retired from the U.S. Postal Service in November 2000. He developed his love for music where he learned to play the Trombone as well as several other instruments. This led to a life of playing for several different bands and meeting many musicians.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Wencela "Winnie" P. Popa; sons, Joseph Popa, Thomas (Ava) Popa; daughter, Melanie (Charles) Spain of Hilo; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tino (Garda) Popa Sr of Las Vegas, Frank (Lorna) Popa; sisters, Annette (Stanley) Takahashi of CA, Maggie (Danny) Sarte, Jeanie (Bob) Bradshaw of Las Vegas, Damiana Souza of Kailua, Kona.

Visitation 9:00 a.m. Wednesday (June 16) at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel; Program 11:30 a.m. Prayer Service 12:00 p.m. Burial 12:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual Attire. Flowers Welcome.
