Masaru Haimoto, 84, of Papaikou, Hawaii, a Swinerton-Walberg Co. retiree and an Army veteran who served in the Korean War, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kalaoa, Papaikou, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Maria K.; son Ronald; brother Tadashi; sisters Kiyono "Kay" Yoshina, Shizuko "Sue" Hohu, Yaeko Hose, Violet Sakamoto and Leatrice Muronaka; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Services: 7 p.m. Thursday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Call after 6 p.m. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Graveside committal services and burial: noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.
