73Robert Kaniupuni Kapuniai Sr., 93, of Honolulu, a retired Otis Elevator mechanic and 100th Battalion Army veteran, died in Hale Nani Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. He was born in Makaweli, Kauai. He is survived by sons Robert Jr., Ben and Lester Kapuniai, Christopher DuPonte, Richard Pinto and Michael and Joseph Souza; daughters Susan Walker, Gwen Tumlinson, Eloise Jones and Barbara Espiritu; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services: noon Tuesday at Borthwick Mortuary. Call after 10:30 a.m. Burial: 3 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Aloha attire.
