72Sopriano Abapo "Fancy" Abong, 83, of Hilo, a retired former Hilo Coast Processing Co. heavy equipment operator, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hakalau, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Josephine, son Stephen, daughter Phyllis Caceres, brother Ramon, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 43 Kapiolani St., Hilo. Call after 9 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
