78Melvin Tadashi Asato, 69, of Honolulu, a heavy equipment operator, died in Hono-lulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Audrey H., daughter Jay-Dee Yu Cote, father Jerry Z., brothers Ken and Jack, sister Debora Lancanari and two grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Moanalua Mortuary.
