Lianne was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and is a 1988 Graduate of Hawaii Baptist Academy and a 1995 Graduate of Mississippi College. She was the Curator of Education and Studio Programs at the Mississippi Museum of Art as well as the celebrated author of the children's book, The Four Dog Blues Band.

Due to her passion for the Scholastic Art Award Program, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Mississippi Museum of Art for the Liarule Takemori Fund for Professional Education, 380 S. Lamar Street, Jackson, MS 39201. This is being set up to provide opportunities for professional development for teachers and to remember her name. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
