Died: August 7, 2010; Woodstock, IL Ada Marie Bennett O'Brien, 90, formerly of Honolulu, HI, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and friends, after a courageous 10 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She loved her career as a registered nurse, traveling the world with her husband, growing orchids in her Honolulu garden, building sand castles with her grandsons on her favorite Hawaiian beach, and later in her life, making quilts for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, John Thomas O'Brien. Ada Marie is survived by her son John Thomas O'Brien, Jr. of Woodstock, IL., her daughter Nancy (Benjamin, Jr.) Phillips of Woodstock, IL., and her three grandsons Benjamin III (Claire), Matthew and Owen Phillips. |
