81Melvin Mossman "Mel" Bender, 92, of Honolulu, a retired general superintendent, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Mildred; daughters Annette Hartman and Brenda Bender; sisters Bernice Braun, Gertrude Rodrigues and Lillian Cameron; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. next Wednesday at Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial: 2 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
