WILFRED "MAKA" HOOMAMA MAKAEHU JR.
Wilfred "Maka" Hoomama Makaehu Jr, 59, of Keaau, HI, formerly of Honolulu, HI, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu, HI on Sept. 14, 1950. He was a Refuse Supervisor for the Kailua Refuse at Kapaa/Quarry. He was a member of the State-Wide Alii Motorcycle Club, Kaneohe Canoe Club, the St. John's By The Sea Kahalu'u Episcopal Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. A visitation will take place on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Ulumau Village (46-465 Kamehameha Hwy., Kaneohe, HI); a memorial service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Luncheon to follow at 12:30 p.m. He is survived by spouse, Phyllis Makaehu of Keaau, HI; 5 daughters, Jamilyn Makaehu of Honolulu, HI, Loyal (Raymond) Kekahuna-Baisa of Keaau, HI, Kathy (Jimmy) DeMattos of Keaau, HI, Teresa (Tim) Smalenski of Lutz, Florida, and Jamiann Coelho of Honolulu, HI; father, Wilfred Makaehu Sr. of Micronesia; 3 sisters, Katie (Domingo) Puaala Baroro of San Jose, CA, Lorraine (Bob) Mahiai Enterline of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Marvellen Likua of Honolulu, HI; 3 brothers, Wayne (Bonnie) Ryder of Honolulu, HI, Ona (Leeann) Young of Honolulu, HI, and Keith (Cheryl) Kanoelani Ryder of Honolulu, HI; brother-in-law, Harry Kaamoana of Hanalei, Kauai; 9 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
