Wilfred Hoomama "Maka" Makaehu Jr., 59, of Keaau, Hawaii, formerly of Honolulu, a Kailua refuse supervisor at Kapaa Quarry, died in Hilo Medical Center. He also was an Army and Navy veteran. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Phyllis; daughters Jamilyn Makaehu, Loyal Kekahuna-Baisa, Kathy DeMattos, Teresa Smalenski and Jamiann Coelho; father Wilfred Sr.; brothers Wayne and Keith K. Ryder, and Ona Young; sisters Katie P. Baroro, Lorraine M. Enterline and Marvellen Likua; and nine grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Ulumau Village, 46-465 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe. Services: 11:30 a.m. Luncheon: 12:30 p.m.
